The Museum of the Kielce Village - Ethnographic Park in Tokarnia was established in 1976 and began operating in 1977. It is the realisation of the scientific assumptions of ethnographer and expert in traditional folk culture Professor Roman Reinfuss. His intention was to recreate the typical settlement pattern of villages from various sub-regions of the Kielce region: Świętokrzyskie Mountains, Krakow-Częstochowa Upland, Sandomierska Upland and Nida Basin.
