TO SPA TREATMENT AT THE TERMA SLOVAKIA IN BUSKO-ZDRÓJ

Guests of our facility (Busko-Zdrój) are provided with access to a modern treatment base, where treatments in the field of balneology, physical therapy, thermotherapy and modern forms of physiotherapy are carried out. Thanks to an individual approach to the patient, appropriately selected therapeutic treatments during medical consultation and a wealth of natural resources such as sulphide water, we can successfully treat the following diseases:

Rheumatological conditions

The causes of rheumatological conditions are not completely understood, and are usually related to an abnormal response of the human autoimmune system, which gradually starts to fight off its own connective tissue cells. These diseases may be accompanied by a range of unpleasant symptoms, the most common of which include painful swelling, as well as progressive stiffness of the joints (initially in the morning, lasting up to 1.5-2 hours after waking up, with time lasting continuously), which leads to a limitation of their mobility.

The application of appropriate therapeutic procedures aimed specifically at the treatment of the affected joints can not only bring rapid relief, but also halt the progression of the disease.

The rheumatological conditions we treat:

  • Osteoarthritis of the peripheral joints and spine
  • Degenerative and overloading changes of the periarticular soft tissues (enthesopathy - so-called soft tissue rheumatism)
    • Painful shoulder syndrome
    • Carpal tunnel syndrome
    • "Tennis elbow" and "golfer's elbow" syndrome
  • Inflammatory joint diseases
  • Rheumatoid arthritis
    • Ankylosing spondylitis
    • Gouty arthritis
    • Psoriatic arthritis
    • Other arthritis not elsewhere classified (e.g. post-reactive)
    • Polymyalgia rheumatica
  • Osteoporosis and osteopenia
  • Fibromyalgia

Orthopaedic and traumatic conditions

Orthopaedic-traumatic conditions involve the musculoskeletal system and, according to their definition, can result from injuries related to random accidents as well as from surgical procedures. Regardless of the cause of a particular orthopaedic-trauma condition, it can affect the spine as well as the peripheral joints of the upper and lower limbs.

The most common complaints accompanying orthopaedic and post-operative injuries are perceived pain, swelling and reduced joint mobility. In most cases, it is necessary to introduce appropriate rehabilitation to speed up recovery and reduce the risk of loss of function.

At our private Spine Sanatorium, we treat ailments such as:

  • Conditions before and after surgical procedures (e.g. joint alloplasties, arthroscopies, corrective surgery, etc.).
  • Conditions following injuries to the musculoskeletal system (joints, tendons, bones, ligaments, muscles, spine, etc.).

Neurological conditions

Neurological diseases (diseases of the nervous system), involve the central nervous system, as well as the nerves and blood vessels that are responsible for supplying blood to the brain. Neurological diseases are most often caused by inflammation in the body, genetics and trauma. Among the neurological conditions that most often require specialised rehabilitation, we can mention post-stroke conditions, stroke or acquired and congenital diseases such as Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, discopathy or sciatica. The rehabilitation of patients with neurological disorders is a long-term process, hence the importance of ongoing monitoring of treatment progress.

Our Spa Therapies help to significantly alleviate symptoms and speed up recovery, in conditions such as:

  • Discopathies and status after surgical treatment of discopathy
  • Root syndromes in the course of discopathy (sciatica, shoulder sciatica, neuralgias)
  • Multiple sclerosis (MS)
  • Parkinson's disease
  • Condition after peripheral nerve injury
  • Stan po przebytych udarach mózgu
  • Flaccid spastic paresis of the limbs of various aetiologies
  • Condition after polio (post-polio syndrome)

    Dermatological conditions

Dermatological conditions usually require the use of pharmacotherapy selected by the doctor, which may be supported by medical treatments and spa therapies. The aim of this type of treatment is to alleviate the sometimes very annoying symptoms that make daily life difficult, such as pain, swelling, persistent itching and embarrassing skin complaints. Sulphidic (sulphurous) waters and hemp proteins and oils, used both in baths and massages, play a major role in the treatment of dermatological conditions, making it possible to effectively treat and alleviate such skin lesions as:

    • Psoriasis, psoriasis
    • Allergic skin diseases (atopic dermatitis, chronic eczema and others)
    • Cutaneous lesions in the course of collagenoses (generalised scleroderma, focal scleroderma)
    • Seborrhoeic skin conditions

    Other

Nowadays, more and more people are suffering from chronic stress, fatigue and various mental disorders. In such cases, relaxation procedures using sulphide water and hemp oil may be helpful in calming the body and treating mild neurotic disorders. In the case of serious mental disorders, the help of a psychiatrist or psychologist will of course prove invaluable.

Sulphur is an element that also supports natural metabolic processes, so our treatments can be successfully used by people struggling with obesity associated with degenerative changes in the musculoskeletal system and in the case of other metabolic disorders such as diabetes.
